SDL 2017 very, very slow processing small xml files

Hi all,

I'd doing a medium size project with approx. 15 k words spread across 13 xml files, which were delivered to me in mqxliff format. So the files are small. Working through the first file, I am constantly waiting for the cursor to catch up. I've just done several thousand words in Word docs last night and today, so the hardware is not the issue.

Is there anything I can turn off/do to make this go a bit faster?
