Question on Subtitle Edit use Thread poster: Sumie Tanaka

Hi, I just started to use Subtitle Edit and have two things I want to solve. 1) How do I stream subtitle text in the preview area? When I double click on the text, it shows the text in the preview area, but once I hit the play button, the text disappears. 2) How can I export subtitle file to Videotron Lambda .cap format? Super thanks in advance, Sumie | | | A couple of possibilities | Feb 19, 2017 |
Is the timing right? I mean, when you "play", are you playing the video frames between that subtitle's in & out times? Are you using SSA/ASS files? Then check the settings at Options | Settings | Ass/SSA Style. Maybe they are not adequate to make the subtitles "visible" (e.g. black color on black background, minuscule size, position beyond screen limits). Regarding conversion to Videotron Lambda's *.cap, it looks like a proprietary format. One solution is to find an adequate converter from any popular format (SRT, SSA, etc.). if any exists. The other is to have Videotron Lambda and use it to IMPORT another compatible format. ▲ Collapse | | | Matthias Ott Germany Local time: 04:36 English to German + ...
Hi, check File>Export, you can find a lot of different file formats there. Dunno if "Cheetah Cap" is the one you're looking for, but at least it has the right ending Best, Matthias | | | Max Deryagin Russian Federation Local time: 07:36 Member (2013) English to Russian
Videotron Lambda is a pro file format. You won't be able to work with it in Subtitle Edit or any other free tool I've come across (especially if you need to create rubies, which you probably do because why else would you need Lambda). The products that deal with Lambda Cap best, in my experience, are SSTG1 and EZTitles. | |

Yes, timing, in/out times are all correct. When I double-click on the subtitle texts, it shows over the video, but once the video starts to play, it doesn't move to the next line, and just goes blank texts. The Ass/SSA style settings are fine as well.(white text on black background) > MattOtt Thank you for the reply. I thought about Cheetah cap, but it looks a little bit different from what I was looking for. I may just go buy EZTitle since it supports Lambda cap. > Max Thank you for the reply. It is too bad that my Subtitle Edit is not showing subtitle correctly... EZTitles supports Lambda Cap and makes it quite easy to edit rubies and vertical subtitles so common in Japan, but the program is quite expensive, unfortunately. If you ever need a discount, send me a personal message. | | | Sumie Tanaka Japan Local time: 11:36 English to Japanese TOPIC STARTER

If you ever need a discount, send me a personal message. Thank you, Max. I will ask my client and maybe I can get by with .srt. If not, I will send PM to you. Discount will help me definitely. | | | Sumie Tanaka Japan Local time: 11:36 English to Japanese TOPIC STARTER
