Përkthime me gojë falas - Flasim shqip
Explanation:
I believe that in this case we should't do a word for word translation since it will not work on conveying the meaning. It will be confusing to an Albanian if you give them a card that says: Shërbime përkthimi gojor/me gojë falas - Unë flas shqip.
The second part of the translation is more of a concern since it doesn't convey the message that you are offering free interpretation for them in Albanian but that you yourself (the presenter of the card) speak Albanian. By saying "Flasim shqip" you are using a more general statement. It is the same as in Spanish: "se habla Espanol"

Word for word translation in marketing your services doesn't work that well.

Sorry about all the confusion. The point I was trying to make has to do with the fact the way the sentnce will read when an Albanian is looking at it. The translation of the phrase \"I speak Albanian\" from Monika is correct. \"I speak Albanian\" should be translated \"une flas shqip\" or just simply \"flas shqip\". Here I was not refering to the translation of the exact words but to the way the first sentence is combined with the second.

From the following sentence: Perkthime me goje falas - une flas shqip, at first glance and with no context at all I would think somebody is telling me that they are offering free interpretation services and they speak Albanian. It is not clear to my Albanian mind who is the one speaking \"Albanian\" the person that is offering the services, the person offering the card, or the person the card is being offered too. To my Americanized mind it would make perfect sense if I read:

Free interpretation services - I speak Albanian.

In a personal email message to Mr. Hunt I gave the following options after he gave me more information on what the card was exactly about.

Here they are:

Perkthime me goje falas - shqip

Perkthime me goje falas - flas shqip (this version is an americanized way of trying to convey the meaning)

I also wanted to say that in this case it is not necessary to translate \"services\" it sounds strange in Albanian and also \"perkthime gojore\" is not used as much. We mostly say \"perkthime me goje\" si e kunderta e \"perkthime me shkrim\"

Again, I didn\'t mean to cause confusion and hope that Mr. Hunt will find what is best for him.

-> Anila, I think that “Përkthim gojor” and "përkthim me gojë" are just synonyms and there is no reason to make such a big fuss about them. As Edi mention, “Përkthim gojor” is in the Hippocrene Eng-Alb Dict.

-> The way the two sentences were combined were confusing and my answer reflects that confusion. I agree with you and the others that "I speak Albanian" separately should be translated "une flas shqip" or "flas shqip" For more info read my comment above.

This is Not an answer to the above question. Just a reply to Acruelty's question

Explanation:
I dashur Acruelty,

This is not an answer, but another comment

Explanation:
The words "to interprete" and "to translate" in albanian mean only one thing: "perkthej" Fjala "gojore" eshte krejtesisht pa vend dhe per me teper e huton shqiptarin. Fjala "gojore" eshte shtese e panevojshme. Pastaj, kjo fraze nuk eshte dicka teper e veshtire qe meritonte kaq debat. Ekziston vetem nje perkthim...
Perkthime falas - Flasim shqip. Kaq... e shkurter and to the point :) Me falni per nderthurjen e anglishtes dhe shqipes por si shume shqiptare te tjere ne Amerike eshte bere normale te flasim keshtu :)

neutral  Monika Coulson: In translation, these two words, "Translation" (përkthim) and "interpretation" (përkthim gojor/përkthim me gojë) have a slightly different connotation. The 1st implies written translation, the 2nd oral translation. However "Përkthim" would still be OK :)
