Spanish term or phrase: memoria de fijación
This term appears in a list of side effects of a psychiatric medication:

What type of memory is "memoria de fijación"?

The extent of my knowledge of memory types is short-term memory, working memory, and long-term memory. I've looked up Spanish definitions of "memoria de fijación" online, but the definitions don't help me to find the appropriate English term.

Encoding is the crucial first step to creating a new memory. It allows the perceived item of interest to be converted into a construct that can be stored within the brain, and then recalled later from short-term or long-term memory. Encoding is a biological event beginning with perception through the senses.
