CONSENSUAL RELATIONSHIP POLICY
__ is committed to providing all employees with a workplace free from harassment. __ written policy against sexual harassment applies to all employees of __, including supervisors, managers and executives.
__ does not prohibit personal/romantic relationships between employees, so long as each employee voluntarily consents to the relationship and the relationship does not affect the performance of their duties or negatively impact __ business or its employees. __ nepotism policy cautions that the potential for conflicts of interest may occur when an employee has a relationship or participates in an activity that influences the employee’s decisions and states that every effort should be made to avoid conflicts of interest, as well as the appearance of a conflict of interest.
__ reserves the right to take whatever steps it deems appropriate to ensure that personal/romantic relationships do not result in favoritism, the undermining of employee morale and/or security, or and/or actual or perceived conflicts of interest.
__ expects that all of its employees will behave in a professional manner while engaged in activities associated with their work at __. Romantic conduct has no place in the working environment. __ will not tolerate sexually oriented behavior in the workplace.
To ensure that personal/romantic relationships do not violate __ sexual harassment or nepotism policy, __ requires that employees who enter into personal/romantic relationships comply with the following:
• Notify the Human Resources Department of the relationship;
• Review __ policy prohibiting sexual harassment;
• Sign __ Consensual Relationship Acknowledgement;
• Agree to possible reassignment or other changes if the social relationship involves a subordinate employee;
• Avoid inappropriate behavior while at the workplace; and
• Notify the Human Resources Department should the social relationship terminate.
