That means a lot of work finding homes, and also servers as a reminder to spay and neuter your pets.
Every spring, the pound sees a surge in the kitten population.
Combined with the regular number of cats that come in, it can mean a lot of work for animal wardens to find homes for them all.
Kittens may be cute, but they are the symptom of a problem.
The Bismarck Mandan Animal Impound Facility had 13 kittens from three different litters, and two mama cats, arrive at their doors this weekend.
"It does take up a lot of time and space to clean after them and find them homes. You're looking at 13 to 15 new homes, so it does take time, and the biggest thing is to stop it before it starts," says Jacobs.
While stray cats are one source of the problem, cats with homes can add to it.
"Animals get spring fever, too," says Jacobs. "They see the birds and they hear the birds and want to go play with them, go hunting."
And while they're out, they might mate with other animals on the loose.
"They grow into cats and you have responsibilities. When you first get a chicken, they don't stay this size and this cute. They become adults and you need to spay and neuter and license them," Jacobs says.
That's just one step towards reducing the population of unwanted animals, and helping these guys finding a loving house.

Source text - English Other specific severe infections
Other severe infections in accordance with official guidance, or after careful benefit risk evaluation when other treatments cannot be used, or after failure to conventional therapy and when the microbiological documentation can justify a ciprofloxacin use.
The use of ciprofloxacin for specific severe infections other than those mentioned above has not been evaluated in clinical trials and the clinical experience is limited. Consequently, caution is advised when treating patients with these infections.
Hypersensitivity
Hypersensitivity and allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and anaphylactoid reactions, may occur following a single dose (see section 4.8) and may be life-threatening. If such reaction occurs, ciprofloxacin should be discontinued and an adequate medical treatment is required.
Musculoskeletal System
Ciprofloxacin should generally not be used in patients with a history of tendon disease/disorder related to quinolone treatment. Nevertheless, in very rare instances, after microbiological documentation of the causative organism and evaluation of the risk/benefit balance, ciprofloxacin may be prescribed to these patients for the treatment of certain severe infections, particularly in the event of failure of the standard therapy or bacterial resistance, where the microbiological data may justify the use of ciprofloxacin.
Tendinitis and tendon rupture (especially Achilles tendon), sometimes bilateral, may occur with ciprofloxacin, as soon as the first 48 hours of treatment. The risk of tendinopathy may be increased in elderly patients or in patients concomitantly treated with corticosteroids (see section 4.8).
At any sign of tendinitis (e. g. painful swelling, inflammation), ciprofloxacin treatment should be discontinued. Care should be taken to keep the affected limb at rest.
Ciprofloxacin should be used with caution in patients with myasthenia gravis (see section 4.8).

In the centre of this issue MCIF presents a special edition of “CHALLENGE”, the International Forum for Medical CBRN Defence. In the light of this year’s Conference on Biodefence and Biosecurity which we support as organisers, we emphasize the importance of this topic with several comments and articles.
Another focus of this issue is on high altitude medicine and physiology, a further chapter dealing with medicine under extreme environmental situations. Also, we continue to address the individual approaches to aeromedical evacuation of various medical services.
With the articles in the chapters « New Developments in Medical Equipment and Technology » and « Congresses/ Conferences », MCIF underlines the importance of a comprehensive approach to military medical issues.
In times when many nations are cutting back on their budgets for defence and are redefining the strategies and structures of their Armed Forces adapting to the evolving threats and their geostrategic consequences, it is crucial to stress the unchanged if not increasing importance of qualified medical support for any kind of operation as well as the need for cooperation between military medical services and Non Government Organisations. Trough its competent authors whose most valuable contributions we gratefully recognize, MCIF will continue to emphasize this fact for the benefit of military and NGO commanders as well as political decision-makers.
