Source text - English Composition
20 mg miconazole nitrate (R14 889) per g of cream and per powder.
Properties
"X" is a synthetic 1-phenetyl-imidazole derivative with a potent antifungal activity against dermatophytes and Candida species and an antibacterial activity aginst gram-positive bacilli and cocci. Usually "X" works very rapidly against pruritus, which is frequent in dermatophyte and Candida infections. That action can already be observed before any curative effect.
Indications
Fungal infections with dermatophytes or Candida species.
"X" has particularly been developed for the treatment of fungal infections of the feet (Athelete's foot).
As "X" exerts an antibacterial action against gram-positive bacteria, it can be used against mycotic affections superinfected with such bacteria.
Dosage and instructions for use
The cream is used for the infected skin. It is applied to the lesion once or twice daily and spread with the finger. The treatment should be continued without interruption until all skin lesions have completed disappeared (usually after 2-5 weeks).
The powder can be dredged on the feet and between the toes concomitantly to the cream or as after-treatment. In addition it is advisable to also dredge the powder in socks and shoes during the treatment period.
Remark
Hygienic measures such as daily washing of lesions and infected parts, regular changing of socks to wash them, and of shoes to disinfect them, will contribute to the therapeutic results of the treatment.
Side-effects
Topical treatment with "X" is excellently tolerated. "X" does not stain the skin or clothes.
Contra-indications
None.
Instructions for opening the tube
To open the tube, turn off the cap and remove the small plastic ring. Then completely screw the cap back on the tube to perforate the hermetic aluminium seal.
How supplied
Combined package with 15 g cream and 20 g powder.
Contraindicaciones
No se observan reacciones adversas.

English to Spanish: Pulp capped teeth General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical: Dentistry
Source text - English There is much written indicating that teeth that are pulp capped have a poor long-term prognosis.
The use of calcium hydroxide is said to lead to resorption of the tooth, massive reparative dentin formation, and blockage of canals.
All exposures were treated in the following manner. All teeth were asymptomatic with signs of vitality (vitalometer, heat and cold test, percussion). A rubber dam was placed in all cases that involved anterior teeth, but only cotton roll isolation was used for posterior teeth.
All carious material was removed, and bleeding of the pulp was observed in all cases. Exposures greater than 0.5 mm in diameter were considered gross exposures.
After bleeding had ceased, calcium hydroxide powder was applied directly to the surface of the exposed pulp followed by a layer of zinc oxide-eugenol cement in fluid form administered by a celluloid tube. After the zinc oxide-eugenol cement set, crown and bridge cement was placed in a like manner. Placing the cement in the fluid state made it possible to avoid any infringement, invasion or impaction on the pulpal tissue.
In the early years, the preparations were filled to the occlusal surface with crown and bridge cement for two to three weeks before the final restoration was placed. The final restorations included either composites or gold in the anterior teeth and either silver amalgam or gold inlays or crowns in the posterior teeth.
In a few cases between 1948 and 1954, penicillin crystals were placed at the site of exposure instead of calcium hydroxide powder followed by restorative procedures previously described
