Having worked in the non-commercial sector, i.e., academic translations, all my life, I am now endeavoring to get used to the market place. 90% of my translations have been for publication, and I have frequently had, in collaboration with authors, of course, to rewrite texts anew in English, as academic authors often tend to rely on the genius of their language to carry the burden of meaning, and that more than often does not translate automatically.
