Source text - English Laws serve to protect people from evil. Every society has individuals willing to harm others. Law creates a framework for reducing crime. First, it lays out the nature of proper and improper human conduct. It establishes the creation of enforcement mechanisms, such as police, that both prevent crime and enact punitive measures.
Translation - Bengali আইন মন্দ এবং দুষ্ট চক্র থেকে মানুষকে রক্ষা করে। প্রত্যেক সমাজে কিছু লোক আছে যারা অন্যদের ক্ষতি করতে চায়। আইন অপরাধ দমনের কাঠামো তৈরি করে। প্রথমত এটা মানব চরিত্রের খারাপ ও ভালো দিক গুলোকে বিন্যাস করে। এটা আইন কার্যকরী সংস্থা যেমন পুলিশ প্রতিষ্ঠা করে যারা অপরাধ দমন করে এবং শাস্তিমূলক বেবস্থা গ্রহণ করে।

Letter: How Muhammad Ali showed his love for Bangladesh

In the late 1970s I headed a modest film production company in London and hit upon the idea to take Muhammad Ali to Bangladesh, then a new country which needed world recognition. After many trips to the US we got Ali to agree, but first there was a small matter to be settled in the ring.
Ali had a fight pending against Leon Spinks, which he thought would be a walkover. Not so. Spinks beat Ali on points. Ali rang me from Los Angeles and said he could not face his fans since he had been beaten. I said: “No Brother, they still love you as The Greatest. The whole of Bangladesh, from the president to the lowest peasant, is waiting for you. You must believe me.”
He, ever the joker, lowered his voice and asked: “Brother Reg, are you serious?”
I replied, “In the name of Allah, I am dead serious!”
He replied, “OK, I will come. But don’t die just yet.”
We filmed the visit of Ali, who was accompanied by his then wife, Veronica, and a posse of friends and guards. Bangladesh I Love You was cut and edited in London and distributed by Lord Grade.
Years later I wanted to make India I Love You to repeat the same formula with Ali when Indira Gandhi was the prime minister. All went well and filming was on schedule, but then international politics scuppered the film. We were in Madras (now Chennai) when a call came to my room. The voice, in a southern US accent, said: “I wanna speak to Ali.” I said: “Ali is resting in his suite. It’s hot in south India.” The voice said: “Well get to him. Tell him it’s Jimmy Carter from the White House who wants to talk to him now.”
I transferred the call to Ali’s suite and rushed to his floor. When I got there, Ali was standing to attention and saying: “Yes Mr President, I will drop everything here.”
Carter had asked Ali to fly to all the Islamic countries to request they pull out of the Moscow Olympics. An hour earlier the USSR had attacked Afghanistan. “My president has ordered me,” he told me. “I must obey him.”
Within three hours an aircraft arrived with US commandos on board. It flew off with Ali and his family. My film had perished.

৭০ এর দশকের শেষের দিকে আমি লন্ডনে একটা সাধারণ মানের ছায়াছবি তৈরির কোম্পানি পরিচালনা করতাম এবং মুহাম্মদ আলীকে বাংলাদেশে নেয়ার ওপর জোর দিলাম। তখন নতুন দেশ বাংলাদেশের বিশ্বময় কোনো সম্মানজনক প্রচারের খুব প্রয়োজন ছিল। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে অনেকগুলো সফরের পর আলী কে রাজী করাতে সক্ষম হলাম, কিন্তু তখনো রিং -এ একটা ছোট ব্যাপার সমাধা হবার বাকি ছিল।
লেওন স্পিঙ্কস এর বিপক্ষে তাঁর একটা যুদ্ধ অপেক্ষমান ছিলো , আলী ভেবেচিল এটা সে খুব সহজে জিতবে, কিন্তু সেরকম হলোনা। স্পিঙ্কস পয়েন্টের ভিত্তিতে আলী কে হারিয়ে দিলো।আলী লস এঞ্জেলেস থেকে আমাকে ফোন দিয়া বললো যেহেতু সে হেরে গেছে, তার পক্ষে সমথর্ক দের মুখোমুখি হওয়া কঠিন হয়ে পড়বে। আমি তাঁকে বললাম, না ভাই ওরা আপনাকে এখনো মহান হিসেবে ভালোবাসে। বাংলাদেশের প্রেসিডেন্ট থেকে সমাজের সর্বনিম্ন পর্যায়ের চাষী পর্যন্ত সবাই আপনার জন্য অপেক্ষা করছে।
সর্বদা রসিকতা করা আলী তাঁর আওয়াজ নীচু করে আমাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলো, ভাই রেজ আপনি সত্যি বলছেনতো ?
উত্তরে আমি বললাম, আল্লাহ'র নামে বলছি আমি সত্যি বলছি।
উত্তরে তিনি বলেন ঠিক আছে আমি আসবো, কিন্তু এখনই মরবেন না যেন।
আমরা আলী'র সফরের ওপর চলচ্চিত্র বানালাম , তাঁর সফর সঙ্গী হয়েচিলেন তাঁর সে সময়ের স্ত্রী ভেরোনিকা এবং এক জাঁক বন্ধুবান্দব ও নিরাপত্তা রক্ষী। বাংলাদেশ আমি তোমাকে ভালোবাসি চলচ্চিত্রটি কাটা এবং সম্পদনা করা হয় লন্ডনে এবং এটি পরিবেশনা করেন লর্ড গ্রেড।
কয়েক বছর পর যখনইন্দিরা গান্ধী প্রধানমন্ত্রী ছিলেন আমি একই উপায়ে আলী কে নিয়ে ইন্ডিয়া আমি তোমাকে ভালোবাসি নামে চলচ্চিত্র বানাতে চেয়েছিলাম। সবকিছু ভালোভাবে হয়েছিল, চলচ্চিত্রায়ন এর জন্যেও সময় নির্ধারিত ছিল। কিন্তু তখনকার আন্তর্জাতিক রাজনৈতিক কারণে চলচ্চিত্রটি মুখ থুবড়ে পড়লো। আমরা মাদ্রাজে (এখন চেন্নাই ) থাকা কালে আমি আমার রুমে একটা ফোন পেলাম। দক্ষিণ যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় কণ্ঠে আমাকে বললো, আমি আলী'র সাথে কথা বলতে চাই। আমি উত্তরে বললাম, আলী তাঁর কক্ষে বিশ্রাম করছে, দক্ষিণ ভারতে এখন গরম। ওপারের কণ্ঠ থেকে আমাকে বলা হলো তাহলে ওর কাছে যান এবং বলুন হোয়াইট হাউস থেকে জিমি কার্টার তাঁর সাথে এখনই কথা বলতে চায়।
আমি টেলিফোন কলটা আলী'র কক্ষে পাঠালাম এবং দ্রুত ওখানে গেলাম। আমি যখন ওখানে গেলাম, আলী তখন মনোযোগের সহিত দাঁড়িয়ে আছে এবং বলছে , হ্যাঁ জনাব প্রেসিডেন্ট আমি এখানে সবকিছু ছেড়ে দিচ্ছি।
কার্টার আলীকে সব মুসলিম দেশে গিয়ে তাদেরকে মস্কো অলিম্পিক থেকে সরে আসার অনুরোধ করতে বললো। এক ঘন্টা আগে সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন আফগানিস্তানে হামলা করেছিল। আলী আমাকে বললো,আমার প্রেসিডেন্ট আমাকে আদেশ দিয়েছে , আমাকে অবশ্যই তাঁর কথা মানতে হবে।
তিন ঘন্টার মধ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের কমান্ডোরা সহ একটা বিমান পৌঁছলো, এটা আলী এবং তাঁর পরিবার কে নিয়ে চলে গেলো। আমার ফিল্মের প্রকল্প ওখানেই শেষ হয়ে গেলো।

I am a Bangladeshi originated British. I believe in globalization and passionately adore that translation and interpretation would make us more connected and triumphant over our differences.
I also believe that better understanding of people of different languages & cultures would make a better society.
I was schooled and graduated in Law in University of Chittagong, one of the most famous universities in Bangladesh. I completed my further Law degree in University of Westminster, one of the best universities in the UK.
I have been working in Law firms since 2013.
I have been translating and interpreting since I came to the UK in 2006. However, it greatly intensified since I started working in the Legal industry in 2013.
I am a very keen professional and carry out my works with utmost sincerity. My priority always goes to quality over quantity and/or any other interests.
