Bio

My academic education in
Italy has been based on the study of foreign languages. Among these,
I focused on English and Spanish. The Bachelor's degree course
“Lingue e Culture Straniere” (Foreign Languages and Cultures) at
the University of Perugia (Umbria, Italy) provided me a solid basis
about them and their corresponding literatures. Besides, an equal
iter was followed for my own mother tongue. Apart from the main ones,
I had the opportunity to study supplementary languages as Portuguese
and Arabic. With respect to the literature, I examined the evolution
of English works from their origins to the second half of twentieth
century. I also commented on the most representative literary texts
on the background of the major historical and cultural events. In the
meanwhile, I had attended a course of General Pedagogy as free-choice
course because of my interest in teaching to children. The Master's degree “Traduzione Letteraria e Saggistica”
(Literary and Non-fiction Translation) at the University of Pisa
(Tuscany, Italy) was translation-oriented. Accordingly, I dealt with
translation from a theoretical and practical point of view focusing
on the different types of literary texts, ranging from novels, poems,
children’s and juvenile literatures up to a wide range of
non-fiction texts. In this respect, I deepened the field of audiovisual
translation through an internship period for Lucca Film Festival in
Lucca. Nevertheless, I continued to deepen the academic programs
concerning the literature started previously. Moreover, I had
a part-time work experience within the university consisting of
tutoring disabled students. Accordingly, I had to support them during
the lectures and with the study. This experience was really
noteworthy because I had the opportunity to face new challenges with
students with some learning difficulties and, thus, it enriched my
expertise much more.
