English to Portuguese: Delicate Business General field: Art/Literary | |
Source text - English Translation is delicate business.
Its kinda like a transplant, the languages are the patient, the words are the organS.
You delicately take words out of one patient and transfer them to another, in the hopes that they'll work just as well as they did in the other patient. Much like a transplant, sometimes they do and you can barely notice a text went through a translator before reaching your eyes. Sometimes, the translator is a dumbass and manages to screw up the job, kinda like a surgeon that would transplant a heart upside down, killing the patient/destroying the text in the process. And sometimes, the patient just doesnt accept the text because they don't jive together.
If you think that was a terrible and confusing analogy, that's because it probably was, but hey, It's what I've got to say.
| Translation - Portuguese Tradução é um negócio delicado.
