Source text - Chinese 小时候，我的体质非常好，几乎从不生病。有次，我咽喉肿痛并伴有高热。这时，我的外公便从园子中的一盆草药掐了几片叶子，蒸后让我服下，隔日高烧便退了，咽喉肿痛也较快好转。也就是从那时起，中医便在我心目中奠定了神圣的地位。后来，才知道，那盆草药叫大青叶，我们现在所熟知的治疗感冒的中成药板蓝根就是大青叶的根部。
Translation - English When I was little, I was always healthy and rarely became ill; however, it happened that I came down with a sore throat accompanied by a high fever. My grandfather picked a few herb leaves from the garden and made a tea out of them. To my surprise, it reduced my fever. The next day my sore throat had improved. After that, Chinese medicine began to play an important role in my life. Later, I learned that the herb leaves and roots were called Isatis and are the most widely-used medicine for treating influenza in China.
