Corrupt licence when valid for other users

Hi there,

I ve got a friend with a problem, I do not know how to help him.
So, he has installed the licence .lic archive, that I gave him, and which is working well for me.
He is using Trados 7.1 on XP.

When he goes to licence manager, add licence, put the path, click ok, the table with available licences is blank. And when running the test, by selecting the licence and clicking test, it says corrupt licence. But again, I am using it without any problems!<... See more

Can someone tell us what coud the problem be? Could it be related to the path? He has kept it under the trados file.

Many thanks for your help, as he has to hand something in, and when he wanted to continue his previous work from yesterday, it said that TM was too large for demo mode..

Do you consider it ok to give your licence file to a 3rd person? Feb 25, 2009

As far as I understand it, this is called use of illegal software. You cannot just give the licence file to somebody else.

How many software licences did you buy? You may want to refer to your licence agreement (which you agree to when installing the software) regarding the number of machines the licence can be used on.

The problem is related to the unauthorised forwarding of your licence file (which won't help him in any way, as each .lic file is linked to the machine address of your harddisk or network adaptor).
