español term (edited): Promover el acercamiento y conexiones entre el tejido económico chino y el latinoamericano

Promoting a close interweaving between the Chinese economy, on the one hand, and the ...

...economies of Latin America, on the other.

I think that this would be the best way of putting it. The use of *between* is legitimate here, if a bit unusual, since one object of comparison is singular (i.e., *China*) is singular and the other (i.e., *Latin America*) plural.

Suerte.

the economic fabric of China and Latinamerica

promote the rapprochement and connection of the economic fabric between China and Latinamerica

agree Janet Ross Snyder : succinct and accurate

agree Michael Powers (PhD) : very nicely stated - Mike :)

disagree Robert Forstag : The phrase seems very awkward to me. I don't think that there exists such a thing as either "a rapprochement of the economic fabric" or "a connection of the economic fabric". Whatever concision there is here is gained at the expense of coherence.

disagree Kim Metzger : Another word-for-word monstrosity.

español term (edited): tejido económico chino y latinoamericano

(enhance/increase the) economic ties between China and Latin America

keep it simple; won't get much shorter than that.
Peer comment(s):

agree CMJ_Trans (X) : now we're beginning to get somewhere - none of this nonsense about "interweaving". My motto - keep it simple. English is like that

thanks CMJ
neutral Robert Forstag : In response to CMJ's comment, I would say that there is an obligation on the part of the translator to not merely paraphrase, but to convey the original as closely as possible. It seems to me that we need not settle for paraphrasing here....

Agree in principle. BUT the source is slightly tautological (both tejido and acercamiento y conexiones) and too "decorated". Spanish also has a greater "faiblesse" for overly elaborate sentences even for pretty straightforward meanings IMHO.
