tramp, mope, mooch
More context would ne helpful. there's a number of variants.
to trust this tramp and he lies to me?
me, trusting that mooch while he lies to me?
to trust this tramp and he lies to me?
me, trusting that mooch while he lies to me?

carpetbagger

Fraud
I think the speaker uses أفاق here to show dishonesty, he/she doesn't mean the literal meaning. i.e. "hobo, vagabond, etc."

Slanderer
Slander according to Webster's dictionary is "the atterance of a falsehood damaging to a person's character or reputation".

Liar
Though the translation liar is ok,but is weak in the sense the Arabic word is in a superlative and hence i would prefer to use the term a pathological liar,i.e.one whose second nature is to lie.
