Hi,

The patient underwent a cystoscopy for a tumour bladder.
The next sentence is "Probable SOP en fin de semaine pour résection TV + résection lésion rein droit"

Any ideas on what SOP stands for in this context. "Standard Operating Procedure"?

@Joanna: It really seems like they're contemplating some type of surgical intervention over the weekend. "Standard Operating Procedure(s)" usually refers to a written work of standard operating procedures for a given process, procedure, test, etc.

Thanks Phill but I answered too quickly and made a mistake I can't even explain now except that I had PKD in mind. It happens! I should stop working!!! But I still have a hard time believing that an English acronym would be used in French.

Selon les explications de Joanna, il ne s'agit pas de chirurgie ou de salle, mais de soins opératoires apportés au patient avant (préopératoires) ou après la chirurgie (postopératoires).

I don't think it matters whether it's "salle" or "soins" or "standard operating procedure" - the meaning is obviously "surgery". I also think it's a bit mean to hit someone with FIVE disagrees, all basically saying the same thing. We all make mistakes...

Merci beaucoup CAGR pour ta suggestion. Il y a plusieurs mentions de SOP: "SOP ce jour?", "SOP demain ou vendredi", "SOP éventuelle avec Dr. X." alors cela me paraît plus comme une intervention qu'une salle d'opération. Non? Ce rapport vient de Québec...

SOP est en français l'abréviation de "Salle d'Opération" ; sans doute, on a voulu dire "Probable intervention en Salle d'Opération pour résection TV (Tumeur de la Vessie) + résection lésion rein droit

Sorry, I should have specified that this is a male. He has tumours in the kidney and bladder. No bone metastasis but did have a bone scan.
