French term

coffres

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Architecture/Asbestos reporting
This word appears in a document I'm working on in the two contexts below. I know there are many possible translations but can't figure out exactly what's required here:

"Plafonds, poutres et charpentes, gaines et coffres" - which appears under the heading "Planchers et plafonds"

"Cloisons (légères et préfabriquées), gaines et coffres" (which appears under the heading "Parois verticales intérieures".

I was thinking "vaults" maybe but I'm not overly confident. I'm translating "gaines" as "ducts". I'm primarily a legal and business translator so my apologies for my lack of technical knowledge in this field. The document's a legal one with a few technical sections - thankfully I've been able to work most of the rest of it out with the help of a few of my colleagues working on the same job).
