I agree with Daryo "Navigation compulsive" applies to behavior associated with essentially any social media platform because they are all designed to induce addiction. It's too broad for "doomscrolling", despite the glossed term. A CNN producer recently said: "If it bleeds, it leads". So we need a term that reflects that powerful attraction.

yes, there is one translation already one that is far from perfect, more a translation for "obsessive web-surfing", completely ignoring the "doom" part.

You could be doing a lot of "navigation compulsive" for any imaginable reason, like being obsessed with football, or a favourite rock band, or with whatever people get obsessed with that has nothing to do with "doom".
