There is especially a growing scare in the US and central Europe about “outsourcing”. (i.e. the provision of services without the supplier and the user having to be in physical proximity, as happening massively with the Internet now: what I have christened *“long distance” or “arm’s length” services* and which are called, in the General Agreement on Trade in Services at the WTO, Mode 1 services).
