Hier der ganze Satz am Ende einer Schadensersatzklausel:

The indemnified parties set forth in this Section shall have the right to exercise reasonable control over any litigation within the scope of this indemnity insofar as it concerns claims against them.

Kann man denn in angemessener Weise Kontrolle über ein Gerichtsverfahren ausüben?

Ich bin nicht sicher, wie man das auf Deutsch gut formuliert bzw. ob ich mit meiner Interpretation überhaupt richtig liege (die schadlos gehaltenen Parteien bestimmen die gerichtliche Vorgehensweise in Bezug auf alle gegen sie geltend gemachten Ansprüche, von denen sie freigestellt sind).

Control Hi Stefan: I think the "control" here is in the sense of not pursuing any legal action when it becomes obvious that the action is not likely to culminate in a successful outcome - IOW, to make the decision to abandon the action when it obviously isn't going to succeed.
