Could someone help to explain this term?
I can't quite decipher what it is that is "positionnée sur une séquence". There appears to be a closing bracket missing somewhere in that phrase which may be confusing my understanding of it.
Thank you in advance for your time and input

associated with a sequence
The closing ')' must go after « add cut », thus:
Celles-ci seront soit liées au programme complet (titre, durée, catégorie, …) soit à des sous parties (information éditoriale dite de « logging » ou « add cut ») positionnée sur une séquence (TC IN TC OUT).
positionnée sur une séquence
-->
associated with a sequence
where the sequence (i.e. the part of the programme to which the editorial metadata refers) is delimited by its start and finish time-codes (TC IN and TC OUT).

PS - I wonder how you are translating "add cut" ??

Note from asker:
Thanks for your explanation, it has helped a lot. As for "add cut", at the moment I am wondering whether it should remain but just be written "add/cut". Thanks again for the input! |

"localized" on a sequence
I think the braket is coming at the end : "(information éditoriale dite de « logging » ou « add cut » *positionnée sur une séquence* (TC IN TC OUT))."
It seems to me that "positionnée sur une séquence" refers to "information éditoriale", and means that this information is linked to the time code (TC). This info can be associated to the hole (video?) program and visible with the program main info (title etc.) (earlier in the text) or, in this case, within the program itself. So I guess you then have to read it, and when coming to the specified TC IN the info will appear, and then disappear when reaching the specified TC OUT.
So I don't know for the translation as I am not here in my mother tongue, but maybe something like "localized on a sequence", or something similar... (I'm leaving this part to you ;-)

I forgot to review my answer: "bracket", and "whole", not "hole"... That's better! ;-)
