Italian term

agente bloccante della diffusione di reazione

Italian to English Medical Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
This is term is part of a list of items that are included in a diagnosis kit.

Is a blocking agent the same thing as a buffer?
Surely a blocking agent does not 'diffuse'' a reaction i.e. cause a reaction to spread - I thought its role is to STOP reactions from occuring?!!!

Thanks in advance for your help!

reaction-diffusion blocking agent

Hi, it's not exactly the chemical field we were operating, but a blocking agent is a class of drugs that inhibit some biological processes, whereas the buffer in chemistry is defined as: Chemistry A substance that minimizes change in the acidity of a solution when an acid or base is added to the solution (www.thefreedictionary.com/buffer).
Reaction-diffusion is an equation-based model used to compare for ex. which of two chemicals is diffusing better.
Hope it is OK.
