Italian term

rileviamo l’importanza strategica

Italian to English Bus/Financial General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Smart mobility
This is a question/section on the new area of research that has developed covering issues of the circular economy

Anche in questo ambito, rileviamo l’importanza strategica dell’innovazione digitale per la transizione dei processi produttivi e distributivi verso i principi dell’economia circolare.

I am unsure what is meant by strategica here and need a good way to word this phrase as a whole.

Discussion

philgoddard Dec 14, 2019:
... of the production and distribution sectors' transition to the circular economy. Or you could save a couple of words by saying circularity.
Lara Barnett (asker) Dec 14, 2019:
Phrasing I am also unsure if this phrase (the xx importance) connects to the" digital innovation" or only to "verso". i.e. it is how this blends in to the rest that is confusing me.

I would say

or "we note" to water it down a little

a few options and let's see what others have to say

and you might go with "as opposed to" for "verso" but might be stretching it...
Note from asker:
But how does this link to "verso...."? Is it the "strategic importance of how xxx is heading towards...."?
Peer comment(s):

agree Charlotte Fleming : Agree. And I'd translate "verso" here as "in relation to".
