bladed pole arms
My take:
"There are various types of pole arms: bladed pole arms, also known as battle axes (typical to the Middle-East and used by crusaders); simple pole arms, i.e. staffs or spears; and studded pole arms, also known as maces."
It's a bit longer than the Italian but more specific and lyric, I think.
The writer forgot about the flail (mazza a flagello? mazza articolata? boh)... I played wayyy too much Dungeons and Dragons when I was a kid... :)))
Make sure you enter this stuff in the glossary. Some nerdy Italian medievalist will find it useful! :)

sorry, "typical _of_ the Middle-East"
I looked it up, and in case you're interested, "flails" are "mazzafrusti".

Comment: "From what I've managed to gather about this type of weapon this seems like a good solution. Thanks Katherine :-)"
