Italian term

automatismo

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing Pharmaceutical Production
"verifica funzionalita' *automatismi* di controllo lavaflaconi"

This is in a document that details the steps in manufacturing a pharmaceutical product -- I'm proofreading a translation done by someone else who was not very skillful.

I'm not sure what an "automatismo" is in this context, except I am sure the translation is not "automatism". I'm guessing it refers to some sort of automated procedure. Some of the specific names of the "automatismi" are: "Contr. Press. Acqua Distillata" and "Contr. Carico Minimo".

What is the correct translation of "automatismi" in this context?

Grazie dell'aiuto!

More context: Another sentence in this section says: "Il controllo degli automatismi viene eseguito ad inizio turno, fine di ogni giornata di produzione, dopo una fermata superiore ad un' ora e dopo interventi manutentivi ..." Still .. cosa sono questi "automatismi"?

automatic control

The way I would interpret "verifica funzionalita' *automatismi* di controllo lavaflaconi" is = "check operation of automatic bottle washer controls". I happen to come across a similar phrase as referred to a lavafiale, and it worked for me.
