In Italian the expression "da libro Cuore" or similar are used to describe a situation / attitude / behavior etc. higly sentimental, moralistic and strict in kind, maybe even with a hue of patriotism or some other traditional and well-established / widely-shared value, possibly not far from "buonismo", sure enough close to patronizing.
Maybe that's the very connotation of any reference to Cuore: it will always convey an idea of obsolete and rétro patronizing.
