per quanto riguarda *overhead bin/compartment*, se si tratta di uno spazio chiuso (tipicamente quello per il bagaglio a mano sugli aerei) ha senz'altro ragione Angela, ma se si tratta di un semplice ripiano credo che *(overhead) luggage rack* vada bene

Non avevo visto che parlavi di autobus/treni. Cappelliera non l'ho mai sentito chiamare così tranne per gli aerei!
