Nackedei

German to English Marketing Medical: Health Care baby massages
Text is about baby massages, and rather than using the word "Baby" throughout, the author throws in a few synonyms.

"Je nachdem, in welchem Tempo, in welche Richtung und mit wie viel Druck gestreichelt wird, wird der kleine Nackedei entspannt oder angeregt."

We wouldn't say "naked baby", or would we? Anyone got anything better than "little one"? "Mite" is probably too unscientific.

The only time I recall hearing 'Nackedei' is for Ingrid Steeger in the old Klimbim TV series, a takeoff on Martin & Rowen's Laugh-in from the states. Not exactly scientific, I must say. :)

How old? No idea, but very young. Apart from goo and gaa, unable to speak, so 'infant' probably okay.

Thanks everyone so far... I doubt if "blighter" or "nudie" would be used in a semi-medical text. A "toddler" is older than a baby. At the mo I'm tending towards "tot". Unless someone's got an even better idea...

These are just some synonyms for naked - you are free to "go wild" with them:
(I wrote newborn because when I had my daugther (17 months ago) - infant massage classes were only offered for newborns)

bare-bottomed

bare-skinned
unclad
birthday suit (to be in one's)

and BTW infant is a baby in the first few months (as I am familiar with the word)- it is a good choice
