investimento de capital/investimento de principal

Well, according to this site (http://www.principleinvestment.com/):
What is Principle? The amount borrowed, or the part of the amount borrowed which remains unpaid (excluding interest). here also called principal amount.

The amount borrowed also called "principal amount", which is what "principle" means, according to Linguee (http://www.linguee.pt/ingles-portugues/traducao/principal am... is "capital".

And "capital", according to Wikipédia (http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matemática_financeira), has another name: "principal", which itself goes back to the definition of "principle" or "principal amount" above described.

All that leads me to think that a correct translation of the term would be:

Not to be confused with "principal", which would mean something totally different.

Given the meaning of principle, as shown in the link below, I guess it might refer to the company's principles of investment policy, which in PT-BR could be rendered as "política de investimento".

a. A rule or standard, especially of good behavior: a man of principle.

Obrigado, Leonor!
