Dear Colleagues,
I am translating the definition of a Pleat :"Gathering and bunching material on skirt fronts to create a darted look".
I don't know what is meant by "darted look". Would you kindly help me by rephrasing it, so that I could be able to translate it correctly.
Thanks million times in advance.

fitted/contoured shape
A dart is used to control or eliminate excess fabric to contour or shape the garment to the curves of the body.
A pleat can give a garment an elastic quality to achieve the same thing via creasing. Or by mechanically folding the extra fabric and fixing it in place to create a more form fitting shape.
