German term

im Medium der Skulptur imitierte

This first half of this sentence is rather confusing to me overall, up until weist. I would understand the "in Teilen" "as preserved in parts in St. Peter's" but that doesn't seem to be the case. Any ideas on the description of the Grabmal?

Hi Kaportnoy Yes, it seems very wordy and redundant to me. However, the author wants to relate something specific, so to honor her intentions I would use appropriate adjectives, "the precisely/perfectly sculpted marble blanket/cloth/shroud covering the sarcophagus of Pope Boniface VII, the remains of which are kept in St. Peter's..."

Thanks @Ramey - ok so just avoid "imitierte" then. Any ideas on "in Teilen"?
