: except that innig here is an adverb, modifying "getanzt" - if it were an adjective it would have to have an adjectival ending

my statement according to which "innig" is an adjective, is correct. To add that in the present case it is used as an adverb definitely would sound ridiculous; after all we are no fledglings who need grammar lessons.
