"Abdämpfung" könnte evt. im akustischen Sinn gemeint sein. Aber ich tendiere mehr zu "Abdämpfung" gegen Stöße in der Fahrgastzelle gegen Stöße. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass ein Vlies gegen Lärm schützt...
