Em primeiro lugar, devia citar também a frase em português.
Mas imagino que se trate duma certa data numa certidão (de nascimento ou de casamento), não é?
Portanto, em português seria algo do género: "no dia 11 do mês de..."
Já traduzi muitas certidões deste género para o italiano e para o inglês e optei sempre por traduzir à maneira mais usada no país da língua de destino.
Sinceramente, é um bucado forçado traduzir à letra: "On the 11th day (not "days") of the month of..."
portanto eu sugeria traduzir "on January 11th, 2009" (ou qualquer mês ou ano que seja)
Mas talvez haja outras ideias melhores.

De nada, Christiano. A opinião dum falante nativo é sempre a mais válida portanto fez bem em aceitar a do Jack. :-) Nesta ocasião também tirei uma dúvida no que diz respeito às outras maneiras de traduzir uma data.
