Co-Witnessed Sights, skip it…
Before you go on some response rant flaming me…read on.
I help folks set up guns regularly. Some guys are so anal about Co-Witness of the Red Dot to the Irons (fixed or backup) that they have their guns apart and are messing with them and missing out on some good shooting and training.
GUYS….sit down, shut up and listen. (Yes Flounder and Sparky, you too!).
Zero your irons, I use some Magpul sights, they deploy nicely. Most folks are going with a flip up rear, zero these too….
Put your Dot on.
Check Zero on Dot, adjust as needed.
Flip sights up or aquire irons. It takes VERY little effort to move your head a fraction of an inch down (usually) to get a sight picture with your iron/open sights. If you have a top-third sight picture, use that…it’s still a very very short movement to make this work.
This works on a majority of sight/dot combos.
Quit messing around and go shooting!
