German term

Arbeitstisch

German to English Tech/Engineering Automation & Robotics Robot cells
Forgive me for what may look like a silly/basic question, but what is the "Arbeitstisch" in a robot cell called? I can find just about any possible term such as desk, table, operating table etc. in combination with "robot cell", but am unsure which is the right technical term for what is being referred to here.

e.g.

Arbeitstisch: Starrtisch oder Werkstückwechsler

working table

... might be an option here. I've found some relevant sources, such as

http://amitytech.com/contractmfg
"Motoman EA 1900N Arc Welding Robot cell with a horizontal reach of 75” and a vertical reach of 134.6”. Features a two-sided rotary turntable with each side of the turntable having a working table of 101”x40”."

http://www.pawprintuk.co.uk/1008low.pdf (p. 24)
"Now, with the Author X5 Evolution, Morbidelli offers an innovative version with high versatility and productivity use. The area of the working table can reach 6,700 mm x 1,780 mm, in order to offer a suitable reply to each working requirement from office furniture production to customised design."
"The working table and vacuum cups positioning can be fully automated in order to set-up quickly the working area, reducing set-up times considerably."

Yes, but it's a workpiece changer rather than a tool changer :-)

Ingrid is right - "work table" appears to be used even more frequently.

Cf. example at http://www.mwponline.co.uk/Features/fabrication_in_good_form
"The materials handling concept employed on this flying-optic machine breaks the mould of twin-pallet and automatic pallet exchange that has dominated the laser-profiling scene now for some 20 years. The single work-table format with simultaneous load and unload from left to right seems to owe much to Trumpf's Sheetmaster handling devices employed on punching machines - with a hint of Mazak 'fork removal'."
Note from asker:
Thanks. It really seems so simple now, even though there are similar numbers of hits for desk and operating table in connection with fixed table or tool changer, but those for working table are indeed more relevant.
Peer comment(s):

agree Kevin John Purkiss : "Arbeitstisch" here refers to auxiliary equipment which assists with some task, here either a fixed, rigid table or a workpiece changer.

agree Ingrid Moore : OR work table; The plate conducts the force between the robot and the work table. http://www.roboter-info.de/application-news_e.html?view_news...
