@ASKER There is a big difference between 'from 2 to 7' and '2 and 7'. The 'from ... to' meaning is supported by the venerable Hindi Shabda Sagar and the link posted by Chopra Ji (borrowing from Shabda Sagar, I suspect). On the other hand, no evidence has been given for 'and'. The meaning given by Ramesh Bhatt could possibly imply 'and' but that's in Nepali.

It could be also used as "and" in English, 2 and 7. Perhaps the source is written in old legal document format as it was used in the revenue and judicial courts of 70's (mix of many languages).

अंग्रेजी में इसका अनुवाद जैसा संदर्भ होगा उसी अनुसार to, with, accompanied इत्यादि हो सकता है।

उदाहरण के लिए एक वाक्य लें - "फ़र्श से लगायत छत तक किताबें ही किताबें"। कहने का अर्थ हुआ फ़र्श से लेकर छत तक किताबें हैं।

आपने जो वाक्य लिखा है। उसका भी अर्थ भी कुछ ऐसा ही लग रहा है नोटिसी क्रमांक २ से लेकर ७ तक (नोटिसी क्रमांक २ लगायत ७ ) । हालाँकि सोर्स टेक्स्ट ही अपने आप में बहुत स्पष्ट नहीं है।

कानूनी भाषा में लगायत का अकसर प्रयोग होता है।
