Unless working for agencies using this terminology, I only call my jobs "projects" if I want them to sound grand and impressive, for PR purposes.
Instead, I refer to every text I get to translate/revise/proof as a "job" and I don't keep count of individual jobs other than for billing purposes. I know how much I have billed each year, and how many clients I've worked with, and at a push could enumerate how many jobs I've done for each client, on a yearly basis - but why bother?

Hard to say what's a job and what's a project - maybe it depends whom you ask. Anyway it must have been far more than 200 this year. After all, the number of jobs/projects and even the turnover is less important - the main thing is your net result after you have paid for all you fix expenses, taxes etc.

Maybe you should consider to put in some more valuable information on your profile, getting active in KudoZ etc. Just getting a ProZ membership without being active isn't the key to success. ProZ is a tool we can use for achieving higher goals.

If you regularly translate birth certificates, you could have worked on over 700 projects this year.
A "project" can be anything from a birth certificate to a 500-page report.

We had 271 "jobs" during 2007 so far, ranging from one sentence to 60,000+ words projects. That also includes DTP and localization.
I am never sure whether or not to call "project" a small translation job, and I remember a poll or forum thread about it... that lead us to no specific criteria

and I think I have had between 100 and 200 projects this year. All sizes - but I prefer the larger ones.
So my proz.com membership has paid off many times already.
I would not have got these jobs (sorry, projects, hehe...) otherwise.
I have tried to complete my profile, been active on kudoz (fun and I learn something) and I am one of those who can't keep my mouth shut on the forum either.

50-100 would be my rough estimate, for "projects" with an average word count of 8,000-10,000 per document (though I had some with as little as 2,000 and as much as 50,000 words)

About a dozen, but I am not counting the smaller ones that only take a few hours to finish. The dozen I am talking about are jobs that contain at least 10K words and can often be between 30K and 40K words.
Maybe it would have been better to ask how many words we translated during the year, that would have given us a more accurate idea of how busy we have been. Unless of course that wasn't the idea.

if the Excel invoicing file is any gauge (it admits 1 reference/job or project). But it can't be any reliable indication of activity (i.e., one may have 50-100 long projects, but often this question of length isn't any choice of ours).
The bottom line is another way of estimating. Then there is gross word count -- but then what about revision and interpretation? Perhaps the calendar would be a better indicator of activity?

Over 250, not counting those done by my partners.
Counting "Projects", however, is essentially meaningless, as they could be as short as a few words, and as long as entire manuals, web sites or programs.

So over 200 (between 10 euros and much more).
I don't exactly know where the "job" stops and the "project" starts either.

By projects, I meant each individual jobs asked by all your clients. I wanted to know if people were selecting a few projects or if they would take all what was proposed to them during a year...

It took me all of five seconds to figure this out using Translation Office 3000 v. 8. I am counting a project as any translation given a separate PO number. If the client sends five jobs under the same blanket, then it's a project with five jobs. If the client sends five separate jobs with five separate numbers, then those are five projects.
By the way, I love the way the word project sounds. It makes me feel so important!
