This morning, after having translated more than 1/3 of the file, I uploaded it to Crowdin, which worked fine. But in the process of exporting from MemoQ (Export-Choose path, a new pop-up window displayed that I never have seen before when selecting the option Export-Choose path, I can't remember now at all the contents of that pop-up window), and then uploading the file to Crowdin, somehow MemoQ reverted all segments in my work file in MemoQ so that all segments became 100 % translated (the same status as when I downloaded the XLIFF file from Crowdin a few days ago). The customer run their own machine-translation engine on the whole file before the project started. My task is to edit these machine-translated segments (full MTPE) and accept segments (not confirm) in Crowdin when I am done with them. I thought it would be no problem in MemoQ to just run a regular pre-translation process: Scope and lookup: Selected documents, Exact TM or corpus match Confirm/lock: Exact match, New status: translator confirmed But none of the segment statuses are changed even after I run a pre-translation in MemoQ! First, I changed the status from Confirmed to Edited for all segments so that the progress indicator showed 0 %. The result is that for this batch that I just uploaded to Crowdin, I had to manually go through all the segments from the first to the last and confirm the 100 % matches from my MemoQ translation memory. I very much would like to avoid that for the next batch! But how? ▲ Collapse
First, I changed the status from Confirmed to Edited for all segments so that the progress indicator showed 0 %. I think that was your little mistake; memoQ won't insert translations over segments that are confirmed or edited. If you'd changed them to "not started", I think you'd have got the result you wanted. | | | Stepan Konev Russian Federation Local time: 04:25 English to Russian Just download the file again | May 13 |
Export the 1/3-translated file from Crowdin again and import it into memoQ as if it was a new file. | | | Fredrik Pettersson Hong Kong Local time: 03:25 Member (2009) English to Swedish + ... It seems like the interface between Crowdin and MemoQ have problems handling the difference between accepted MTPE edits and confirmed segments. If I download the file again, when opening in MemoQ all segments will be confirmed already. And I would have to redo the same laborious process as today of going through segment by segment, insert from the TM and confirm each segment manually.

Now that I did this little mistake the first time, do I have to live with it for the rest of the segments? Because I need to do another upload in a few days time, and I get some pop-up window which I just okayed. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Cannot pre-translate XLIFF file from Crowdin in MemoQ after first upload Protemos translation business management system | Create your account in minutes, and start working! 3-month trial for agencies, and free for freelancers!
