Translator for TED Talks and Translators Without Borders

Hi everyone!

My passion for learning new languages started a long time ago. At age 6, I began to take English classes, and never stopped studying it since. Later, I decided to study Spanish and then French.

When I was 18, I started my study on Law, which is another passion of mine. In 2011, I graduated from Universidade Federal Fluminense with a bachelor´s degree in Law. After that, I passed the Brazilian Bar Association examination and became a lawyer.

I began working as a tax consultant for a big multinational company. Although I had a stable job and a good working environment, I was not fully satisfied with my career prospects. I missed studying languages. I started to think of a way to use my language skills to make a living. The idea of working as a translator immediately popped up in my mind. I started to investigate the translation market and realized that it was not only a viable option, but also one that could provide a sense of professional fulfilment.

I studied translation for one year and a half on a language school located in Rio de Janeiro/Brazil. Then, I went to Dublin, to hone my English skills. I studied English for 6 months and then took the CAE exam, obtaining the C2 certificate. In the meantime, I did some translation for TED Talks and Translators Without Borders.

I am currently living in Bordeaux/France to improve my French.
