If you're referring to the two job posts by the same person from Germany, an end customer, with the same subject matter, same ridiculous budget, but different word counts (more than 7000 and more than 22000*), I thought I'd check if I can find some references about the person and the related subject on the internet and I did. I even applied for one of these jobs yesterday (with an adequate price proposal) to tell the poster that the proposed budget must be a mistake. No answer. The jobs have today 15 and 17 applicants, respectively, and are still open after a few days. Someone impersonating someone else to conduct an experiment? I wish that were true. In any case, if you work for 1 cent/word or whatever lower rate, or if you expect to pay that amount for a translation, you can't be taken seriously. And that pertains to quite a few more cents per word as well.

You know, the "experiment" actually even -is- possible. Or -would- be.
It's not that hard to organize 16/17 people to post an "ah yes, sure..." under such an "assignment proposal". Maybe to influence others... "translations to German are actually done even for -this- price per word, so don't claim the current typical rate starts at XY..."

No, I will not spend the offered discounted amount for a year-membership as long as such "assignments" show up here, not interested. They got a lot from me already. I am not a -recurrent- member as long as this goes on.
If not an experiment, we at least know there are 16/17 new members with very questionable "skills". However, this absolutely looks like an "experiement" some "management" guy (administration, actually) with too much time on his hands. A few real offers from "under the bridge but with wifi" (which actually exists, of course there are people here who will promise you to learn English in 2 days for this assignment). But the rest - I don't really believe this is just genuine stupidity at its best, posted right from some Hollywood swing.
