Arabic <> English Translator & Interpreter, MHPPS Services

Dear proz members,

As Bloomer House, we are preparing to bid for a tender of a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) project in Syria. The project's goal is to increase vulnerable people' access to and quality of MHPSS services by implementing capacity-building and strategic intervention strategies. Translation services are needed to ensure that there is efficient communication and knowledge transfer throughout the workshops, which will be led by international specialists for professionals in Syria. In order to maximize the impact of the workshops on the intended audience and to enable smooth interaction and comprehension between the experts and the participants, these services should include written, simultaneous, and serial translation, on-site in Syria (especially in İdlib and online).

The linguists need to hold the following qualities:
Expert 1:
General Qualifications:
• Education: University qualification (first degree/master’s) in Translation Studies, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in providing translation services, with expertise in serial, simultaneous, and written translation.
Experience in the Region/Knowledge of the Country:
• Region: Middle East, specifically Syria.
• Years of Experience: At least 3 years of experience working in Syria or with Syrian organizations.
Language Skills:
• Business fluency in English and Arabic, with exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken forms.
Expert 2:
General Qualifications:
• Education: University qualification (first degree/master’s) in Translation Studies, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years' experience in providing translation services, with expertise in serial, simultaneous, and written translation, including experience in conference interpretation.
Experience in the Region/Knowledge of the Country:
• Region: Middle East, specifically Syria.
• Years of Experience: At least 5 years of experience working in Syria or with Syrian organizations, with a deep understanding of the cultural context and nuances.
Language Skills:
• Business fluency in English and Arabic, with exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken forms.
