Hello, I'd like some advice about the translation of a medical report from French to English. Do I keep the names of the drugs in the source language or do I change them to the generic names for those drugs? Some examples of the names of the drugs are TAHOR and KARDEGIC.
Many thanks

Don't change

As a rule of thumb, trademarks incl. the names of the medicines should not be translated.
Plus, in a medical report, sometimes a comma would matter. So, stick to the original and translate only the text.

I'd keep the trade name (it might be significant) and stick the generic name in square brackets to help the reader

Possible but not necessary.

These files are usually for people from the field. So, clear (and sometimes, legible) information does not require an explanation. Adding such info for clarity might easily lead to mistakes.
Tradenames, model and manufacturer of a specific device etc. matter and should not be translated, imho.
