"We are following the agreements on the Black Sea Fleet to the letter, including those that contain provisions on the possibility of extending the fleet's stay into the period after 2017," he said in a press conference in Moscow. "We are ready to propose to the Ukrainians, at the appropriate moment, discussing the conditions for a further stay. Of course, a concrete discussion of these questions lie ahead at a later stage, closer to 2017, with the government of Ukraine that will be operating at that time."
In Lavrov's opinion, "at this stage the most important thing is the conscientious fulfillment of the present fleet-basing agreements by both sides."
