Since receiving my B.A. in Modern Languages, Literatures & Cultures with a concentration in Spanish and German in 2004 and my M.A. in Communication Studies in 2011, I have enthusiastically devoted my professional efforts to a very personal passion: teaching. To the classroom I bring experience that is rooted in, but which also extends beyond, the academy.

I am a College Professor at WCCCD in the areas of Speech and Spanish, as well as Communication Specialist, Editor, Translator, Subtitler and Transcreator in a wide array of public sectors, including but not limited to government, education, immigration, law, etc. In my line of work I am frequently exposed to challenging circumstances, the continual need to learn new concepts and adapt to ever-changing work-related demands.

My special interests are media theory, new media practices, communication in pedagogy, rhetoric and speech-writing. I am actively engaged with what I consider to be an obligation to keep current with the changing face of media and the evolution of pedagogical methods.

Most recently, I have prepared a tentative course syllabus and accompanying course materials for two courses, namely Introduction to Speech-writing and Communication in Pedagogy. In addition, as part of my New Media classes I created an E-Portfolio, as well as an E-Portfolio blog to synthesize my views on the status quo and future of New Media from a historical, cultural and theoretical perspective.
